The Husqvarna Automower® 550 EPOS® is a high-capacity robotic mower for commercial fleet use, rated by Husqvarna for green areas up to 10 000 m². It is the machine to look at when a grounds or landscaping team wants to take routine mowing off its schedule across a large site.
It has no boundary wire. Husqvarna EPOS® uses satellite positioning with virtual boundaries, so work areas and stay-out zones are set up digitally rather than with wire in the ground. An EPOS® Reference station is required.

What the Automower® 550 EPOS® brings to a site
Wire free, accurate to about 2 cm
EPOS® runs on satellite based RTK-GNSS technology with accuracy down to approximately 2 cm. With no physical wire there is no boundary wire to break, and Husqvarna points to greater robustness and flexibility as a result.
Each area set up its own way
Every work area can have its own time schedule, cutting height and cutting pattern, which suits a site with several scattered green areas. Temporary stay-out zones can close off a section during construction work, seeding or events.
Patterns and routes
The mower can run in parallel lines and cut diamonds, triangles or a checkerboard to improve how the turf looks. EPOS® guidance calculates the most efficient route to and from the docking point, and you can set a maintenance point where, on command, it parks automatically to wait for service, cleaning, loading or storage.
Built for fleet management
Husqvarna Fleet Services™ lets you monitor, control and analyse your whole fleet from a phone, tablet or laptop. appDrive lets you drive the mower by remote control from your smartphone. Firmware upgrades are done over the air through the Fleet Services app.
Commercial cutting system
A five blade cutting disc with Enhance HSS blades does the work, and balance control notifies you if the cutting system goes out of balance. Large coarse-tread wheels give traction on slopes up to 45%, and ultrasonic sensors help it avoid hard collisions.
Is it right for your site?
The Automower® 550 EPOS® makes sense for large, managed green areas rather than a typical home garden. Husqvarna rates it at 10 000 m² and around 300 m² per hour without charging.
Check the slopes. It manages 45% inside the work area but only 15% at the boundary, so banks along the edge of a site need to be looked at before installation.
