Gardena SILENO minimo 250 Robotic Lawn Mower

The Gardena SILENO minimo 250 is a compact, quiet robot lawn mower for small lawns. Gardena rates it for up to 250 m², so picture a front lawn, a modest back garden, or the grass in a cluster or townhouse garden.
It works inside a boundary wire that we lay around the edge of the lawn, and you set it up from your phone with the GARDENA Bluetooth® App. There is no screen. It is the smallest model in Gardena’s South African SILENO range, and the place to start if your lawn is small and fairly level.

What makes the SILENO minimo different
Set up from your phone
You enter your lawn details, mowing preferences and start times in the GARDENA Bluetooth® App, and the mower works out its own schedule. The app connects from up to 10 metres, so treat it as a setup and adjustment tool rather than something you check from the office.
Narrow strips and tight corners
Gardena’s CorridorCut lets the minimo mow between boundary wires just 60 cm apart and find its way out of dead ends. In a small garden, the strip beside the house is often the hardest part to keep tidy.
Mows to match the growth
SensorControl reads how fast the grass is growing and adjusts how often the mower goes out. Spot cutting runs a spiral over one patch, which is handy for hard-to-reach spots such as under a trampoline or garden furniture.
Quiet, weatherproof and easy to clean
Gardena puts its noise level at 57 dB(A), the lowest in its class. It mows in rain or sunshine, a frost sensor pauses the schedule near freezing, and Gardena built it to be hosed down, blades, wheels and all. Lift sensors stop the blades the moment it is picked up, and a PIN code stops anyone else using it.
Is it right for your lawn?
Begin with the rated area. Our advice on any robotic mower is to choose one rated for more than your lawn. Gardena says the minimo 250 needs about 5,5 hours of mowing and charging a day to manage a full 250 m². If your lawn is close to that, or you want the mower to run fewer hours, the Gardena SILENO minimo 500 is the same size machine with double the rated area.
Next, slopes. Inside the lawn the minimo handles up to 25%, meaning the ground rises 25 cm for every metre across. Along the boundary wire the limit is 10%, so a steep bank at the edge of the lawn is the thing to check. We look at this when we assess the lawn and plan where the wire runs.
Then the layout. Passages narrower than 60 cm between wires will not work. If you want a screen on the mower, an alarm or steeper slope ability, look at the SILENO life models, or compare all our robotic mowers side by side.
Installed and serviced by GSR Outdoor
We sell, install and look after robotic mowers from our workshop at 41 Delson Circle in the Somerset West Business Park. With the minimo, that means laying the boundary wire, setting up the charging station and showing you how to run the mower from the app on your own phone.
After installation, the same team provides service and back-up. Bring the mower in for robotic mower servicing, repairs and updates, or diagnostic tests if it is not behaving. We also supply parts and accessories, offer storage, and can collect and deliver the mower.

Frequently asked questions
How big a lawn can the Gardena SILENO minimo 250 mow?
Gardena rates it for lawns of up to 250 m². To cover the full area it needs about 5,5 hours of mowing and charging a day. If your lawn is close to 250 m², we would usually point you to the SILENO minimo 500 for some headroom.
Can I control the SILENO minimo 250 when I am not at home?
No. It uses the GARDENA Bluetooth® App, which connects from up to 10 metres away. You set the schedule once and the mower follows it, but you cannot check on it or change settings remotely.
Will the SILENO minimo 250 mow a sloped lawn?
Yes, within limits. Gardena gives a maximum slope of 25% inside the mowing area and 10% along the boundary wire. If part of your lawn edge is steeper than that, we plan the wire around it when we install the mower.
How loud is the SILENO minimo 250?
Gardena lists a perceived sound level of 57 dB(A) and describes it as the quietest in its class.
What is the difference between the SILENO minimo 250 and 500?
On Gardena’s specification sheets the two share the same weight, size, cutting system, cutting width and battery run time. The 500 is rated for twice the area and needs up to 12 hours a day to cover it, compared with 5,5 hours for the 250 on its full area.
