Gardena SILENO life 1000 Robotic Lawn Mower

Gardena SILENO life 1000 robot lawn mower with grey body and teal detailing

If a minimo would be working flat out on your lawn, the Gardena SILENO life 1000 is the next step up. Gardena rates this boundary-wire robot mower for lawns of up to 1 000 m², and it handles slopes of up to 35% inside the mowing area.

The version Gardena South Africa lists is set up with the GARDENA Bluetooth® App on your phone, or on the display and control panel built into the mower. It is the same SILENO life body as the 750, with a larger area rating.

What you get with the SILENO life 1000

Blades and SensorControl

Three pivoting razor blades cut a 22 cm path, with height adjustable from 20 to 50 mm. SensorControl tracks how fast the grass is growing and sets how often the mower goes out, so it does more in a growth spurt and less when the lawn slows down.

Navigation for awkward layouts

CorridorCut guides it through gaps as narrow as 60 cm between boundary wires and back out of dead ends. Gardena says the charging station can be placed with very few restrictions, which helps when the obvious spot is behind a bed or round a corner.

Day to day

The display lets you change settings at the mower, and the app walks you through setup. It mows in rain or sunshine, pauses near freezing with its frost sensor, and runs at a perceived 57 dB(A). Spot cutting deals with hard-to-reach patches, and a hose is all you need to clean it.

Security

A PIN code, an alarm and lift sensors that stop the blades instantly. Collision sensors stop garden obstacles from bringing it to a halt.

Is it right for your lawn?

Gardena’s spec sheets show the SILENO life 750 and 1000 with the same weight, size, blades, battery run time and 200 m of boundary wire. What changes is the rated area and the hours it takes to cover it: about 11 hours a day for a full 750 m² on the SILENO life 750, and about 15 hours for a full 1 000 m² on this model.

We recommend a mower rated above your lawn size. If your lawn is creeping up towards 1 000 m², the Gardena SILENO life 1500 gives you more room. If it is well under 750 m², the 750 will do the job.

On slopes, the life 1000 handles up to 35% inside the lawn and 10% along the boundary wire. Narrow passages need at least 60 cm between wires. A larger lawn often has a longer perimeter too, so we check at the assessment whether the 200 m of wire in the box will cover yours or whether you need an extra roll.

One thing to check with us before you buy: the SILENO life 1000 that Gardena South Africa lists (article 15102-40) is a Bluetooth® model, so app control works within about 10 metres. If you want to manage the mower from anywhere, ask us which version we supply, or compare all our robotic mowers.
